The global announcement came out on the day of the Budapest semi-final.

The accelerator program is a huge opportunity for early stage female founded startups operating in beauty-tech, e-commerce or fashion.

The winner of the Budapest semi final, which happened on the 25th of April, is Work.buzz.

Winner Work.buzz is trying to provide a solution to the needs of the dramatically changing workforce world.

It is a platform with different features which helps freelancers, new college grads, career changers to show themselves in the online space. Basically Work.buzz is an easy personal branding tool for freelancers, and an HR management platform for corporates to effectively and easily connect with their freelance workforce.

The number of freelancers is increasing constantly. Only in the U.S. hit 57.3 million this year.

Global surveys also say that about 46% of Gen Z workers are freelancers. People want more flexible working arrangements everywhere.

From the applications in Hungary, 9 teams were shortlisted to pitch at the Budapest semi-final.

Winner Work.buzz will join other countries’ semi-finalists at the London Final in November.

Second place: Casp — a Big Data driven smart geothermal pipe control to save 25% energy

Third place: Kider — an app to give personalized family program recommendations, so the so much time wasted on looking for programs can be spent with our kids

The competition is not limited to any industries, however a beauty-tech sub-category has been launched as part of the competition. Teams can apply to one of the events happening in major European cities. Next events are in Tel Aviv on June 12–13th, and in Moscow on June 15–16th, further locations and dates will be announced soon.

For the beauty accelerator program applications can be submitted from anywhere, if a team can not make it to any of the events. Best teams to participate in the accelerator program will be selected in October together with Avon’s global team.
